MAY UPDATE

May was not a very productive month on the painting table.

As this pandemic seems to be slowing down, I've got less time to work on things. Early on I was working every other week, one week in the office and one week from home. Then we went back to everyday, every week but just half days. Since the beginning of May we've gone all the way back to full days and having to re-adjust back to the "new" old work schedule.

Plus it's Stanley Cup Playoffs!!! 😁

It's going to take some time to get used to working hobby time back in my routine.

Lately Reaper has been throwing in a free mini with orders and this guy is one that I started working on as a break in between steps of the Amazon phalanx.

Over Christmas I realized I don't have any dragons! Can you believe that? I had to get me a dragon.

I present Reaper's silver dragon.
The base was really thin and somewhat twisted and he wouldn't stand level as is. I tried to fix the base but I just couldn't get it straight and I was a little scared of really messing the whole thing up twisting too hard. So I found a small piece of wood, glued him down, added some green stuff, sculpted some rocks and added some real rocks.

I finished him up back in January.
Actually had several gaps around tail, wings, and jaw to fill in with epoxy and green stuff, but once the paint is on you can't really tell.
I used lots of greys as a base followed by some gun metal and a light airbursh spray of silver.

I LIKE IT!

May was a bit unproductive but April was not.
Although I don't really have a game for these, I was a fan of the show way back and when I came across these on eBay for about $7 a set I had to have them.

These are nifty little 3D printed models.
They were a little wobbly on the stands so I cut the pins off
the stands and magnetized them. Works much better.

I've still got the full size models I built when I was what, 11 or 12? Some of the few models that survived all these years in storage over at mom's. I've been contemplating repainting them. Maybe one of these days.

And lastly for this post, one more thing I finished in April.

EYE TYRANT
He was really fun to paint. I wanted a bit more transition from dark on top to light on bottom but I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

Transitions were achieved with some wet blending and dry brushing and really a lot of back and forth between the different colors and techniques until it got to where I liked it.

So that's it for this month. I hope June is a bit more productive. Lord knows I have plenty of stuff to work on.

Until next time,
Thanks for stopping by.
